How was your experience?
This was an enjoyable musical at a small theater on Southport. Doing a musical about a circus on a small stage is difficult but they managed some rope climbing and acrobatics, plus a fake elephant that seemed alive. There was a group of 4th graders in front of us and while they seemed to enjoy it, I think the songs and plot were a little boring for them. Still, the clowns regaled them before the show, interacting with them to their delight. Since the last time I was at The Mercury Theater, many small restaurants have sprung up in the area offering an opportunity for pre-theater dining. Parking is either valet ($12.00) or across the street in the school parking lot for $14.00. Afterwards, there's a Diary Queen on the corner. What's not to like?
