How was your experience?
Incredible visual and sonic feast in telling part of Chicago-related history. Would help to read the program's timeline of the actual, concrete facts in the lives of Bathhouse John et al, but once the audience gets used to the fantasy format we understand the show well. Funny, educational, well-performed and with a sense of the period of these things that we get when we see old photographs. It was refreshing that this show had a clearly defined audience seating space, and that most of the audience could just sit and watch the show for ninety minutes (take a good thorough bathroom break beforehand because there's no intermission). I hope that Hypocrites will continue their tradition of involving the audience, but sometimes it's good to make concessions to the audience also. Be aware that it's not on the Mainstage as it says on the web page, rather in the downstairs house as usual.
