How was your experience?
A charming, thought-provoking play, "Birds of a Feather" has two gifted actors playing alternate roles as, respectively, a couple of male Penguins at a New York zoo who bond and raise a chick, and two hawks who make their nest on the ledge of a building occupied by a high-profile media personality. Two heterosexual humans, a female zookeeper and male New York bird watching enthusiast, act as a sort of bemused chorus. Laced with irony and tenderness, the play encourages us to think beyond sex, gender and social class, and to explore the more complex origins of love.
