How was your experience?
Lead-footed political farce with few laughs, it picks up a bit in the second act, though not enough to salvage a poorly written and poorly directed minor play. The pacing was terrible the night I saw the show, but cutting 20 minutes out of the script would help. It's always a pleasure to see such fine actors as Jefferson Mays and Dakin Matthews, but Mays especially deserved a better part. He’s such a mesmerizing actor that I found myself watching him even when my focus was supposed to be elsewhere; he's always that good. Michael McKean might have just been miscast or a victim of the mediocre direction, but I always enjoy watching him.
