How was your experience?
OK for the price. The venue (Sanborn Park) is very casual, just folding chairs in a dirt floor amphitheater. We brought a picnic and were able to find available picnic benches nearby before the show. Bringing wine into the amphitheater is allowed, either BYOB or bought at the concession stand. Lots of yellowjackets, so beware if anyone in your party is allergic. The production was about what you'd expect for a small theater company, lots of energy and enthusiasm and competent performances, if not of the highest caliber. They have concessions and mechandise available. Before the show a stage announcement was made that the company, Shady Shakespeare, is trying to raise money to make improvements that are badly needed, like installing grass in the seating area (it's very dusty and dirty), raising the back rows so those seated there can see more clearly and what they especially need are microphones. The actors aren't miked and it's difficult to hear from the back rows. Also be aware that parking at Sanborn Park is $6 per vehicle, information that was not included in the ticketing information. I'd be interested in going back if they make the needed improvements.
