How was your experience?
The venue at Santa Anita Park is inferior to the previous Arboretum location. The walk from the parking lot to the green forces you to go through a tunnel both in and out with a noise level that is so unsettling it takes away much of the enjoyment achieved by the performance. There were several portions of the performance that were very strong including The Strauss Waltz, Salome opera, and Ritual Fire Dance. However, the sequence for Elvis, Abba, and Michael Jackson were quite mediocre. In addition, the Elvis portion seems to be played without proper acoustic tuning of the audio system. However, the biggest letdown was the minimum amount of dancing performed in a show labeled Dance Fever. In the future I would decide to go to Disney Hall if I were interested in seeing a performance. The seats here are so uncomfortable and the whole show was only visible on the TV monitor.
