How was your experience?
Good for the sake of ensemble acting, but rankly distasteful piece is all over the place in terms of what it's trying to say. Playwright Pendleton seems to be confusing homosexuality with pedophilia. Seems to live only from one violent or histrionic act to the next in order to snare "tour de force" label. My guess is that the company chose a play with "gay" elements in order to exploit sensibilities of a northside Chicago audience. Actors do best they can to make text cohesive and human for the audience's sake, but audience isn't naive: this play has nothing to say.
