How was your experience?
Had a wonderful time at "A Midsummer's Night With The Monkees" at the Warner Theater. While it was bittersweet to see the band play without its beloved member the late Davy Jones, it was good to see Mike Nesmith this time, as he was not part of the band's 2011 tour. Having seen the group in 2011 at Wolf Trap, I have to say I preferred that venue to the Warner, but the Monkees put on a great show nonetheless. This show showcased many of Mike's songs and, alas, few of Davy's, which gave the show more of an edge. I liked how they interspersed scenes from The Monkees TV shows with the live performance to give the band a few breaks without an actual cumbersome intermission. The group's voices are still impressively strong and the lively audience was surprisingly comprised of fans of all ages. Overall, I fun night out.
