Terrace (Includes Parking)
How was your experience?
Both bands put on a great show but Matchbox Twenty definitely proved themselves to be the headliner band. It's nice to hear artists that sound as good live as their recordings. Goo Goo Dolls had a nice stage and lighting set that really worked with their songs. I don't know if it was due to time restrictions, but it felt like they did a no nonsense playing through of their set with little interaction. I'd say the energy level of the crowd really went down every time a song was performed with Robby Takac singing lead. They just didn't sound nearly as good without John Rzeznik as lead. Matchbox Twenty put on a show! Rob Thomas pours his heart and soul into each song and pulls you in to whatever he is singing. Overall, the acoustics/sound was good. The Amphitheater itself is not my favorite set up as far as accessibility and the bathroom facilities are lacking. Getting to the lawn and terrace seats is a steep trek and it's quite a walk from the entrance. If you plan on drinking alcohol, also plan on spending a lot of money. Somewhere around $14 for one large beer or a single margarita. It explains the amount of tailgaters in the parking lot before the show.
