How was your experience?
Why drive downtown and pay exorbitant parking prices when you can have a highly entertaining theater experience in the suburbs? The Gunston Arts Center is an intimate space, and it makes you feel like you're part of the production. "I Do! I Do!" featured an excellent case and fine accompaniment. The seating could be more comfortable and the scenery less minimalist, but those are small complaints. The artistic director chose to veer from the traditional husband/wife leads to include a gay couple and a lesbian couple (all played by just four people), and it was a brilliant move, adding a modern and thought-provoking dimension to a musical that could have been outdated. I saw "I Do! I Do!" on the last night of the run, and I'm sorry it's over!
