How was your experience?
"The Audience" is clearly a star vehicle for Helen Mirren, but very enjoyable to see her again as Queen Elizabeth. It's reminiscent of Bette Davis playing the first Elizabeth (several times) or Helen Hayes as Victoria--always surefire box office. The play is deftly written and well performed by all the actors. The venue (Music Box, Chicago) is pleasant and homey (the opposite of your usual multiplex), and the projection is high quality.
