How was your experience?
For those who have seen the movie too many times to admit, this show will NOT disappoint you. Many of the lines are the same, but the timing is different, so don't expect the long pauses you're used to in the movie. And despite the disclaimer at the beginning of the show, ("This is NOT the movie.... ") the cast enjoys an occasional clever retort from the audience. They also love it when the audience dresses with a "Rocky" style in mind. But don't bring any props to throw, as this is not allowed in any stage production I've seen yet. The talent is as good as you're going to see in a non-equity show, with the energy level being HIGHER than you'd see in a professional production. Kate Layva delivers a level a charm and perkiness which rivals Little Nell, and Annie Donahey serves up an wickedly unique interpretation of Magenta than that which Patricia Quinn portrayed in the movie. (And in case you remember Annie’s performance of “Little Sally” a few years back, she does NOT look like a 9-year-old in THIS show!)
