How was your experience?
As with his Clybourne Park, this Bruce Norris play failed to provoke. While he seems to enjoy being called provocative, neither of these plays lifted above mild, inconsistent entertainment. He tries too hard. That said, the acting - especially Marylouise Burke and Tom Irwin - was solid, though Carlo Alban's role - JJ - was unnecessary. I guess more of Norris's provocativeness. There were enough bits of humor to sufficiently relieve the tedious chatter and make the play bearable - but cutting 20 or so minutes would have helped. Need I mention that there was a rousing standing O the end?
