How was your experience?
It was going to be our last show of the summer at Ravinia so maybe that affected our fun. We arrived early via the train with our picnic gear. Waited in line with some charming couple in their 80's that told us about the local history of the band. It seemed that would have made the crowd more fun but it almost seemed like a high school reunion and we must have attended the rival school. It was a very strange antisocial and a bit aggressive feeling overall. It was the first time we had purchased tickets inside the pavilion rather than lawn seats. Our seats were fantastic except for as soon as we sat in them there was a huge guy and 2 girls that sat in front of us. They were extremely drunk and having a great time dancing but since we are vertically challenged, we couldn't really see once they arrived:( Even more so, we were really disappointed by the band. They performed a set of Beatles music that they said they would not be doing again. We did know that ahead of time but thought their catalog of music would be the better set. We didn't seem to know alot of the songs but everyone else did. Since we had seen so many concerts over the summer, I was also put off by the way the ended the show. I really don't even remember anyone saying thanks for coming. It seemed as if everyone would be getting together afterward so there was no need for a formal good bye:) We were then rushed to the train by the loud speaker announcement informing us that the last train to the city was leaving immediately. We then waited on the platform for probably about a 1/2 an hour with again what seemed to be a weird feeling from the crowd. When we finally able to enter the train, a woman was trying to push me away from my fiance. I explained that we were together and she began cussing at me and stating that I must not be from around there. It felt quite the opposite to me. All evening I was wondering where the friendly mid-westerners were?
