How was your experience?
This was my first time at Harlow's and I was not disappointed. Enjoyed Casey Abrams on American Idol and have since purchased his CD, so when I saw he was coming to Sac I invited a group of friends for a mid-week night out. The venue was great for an intimate concert experience, and the staff was really nice (even allowing us to move some chairs around to accommodate a group of 7). The opening act, Humble Wolf, was a perfect pairing with Casey Abrams and played a nice long set. Casey ended up starting at 8pm and playing for 2 hours! It was a great mix of covers, originals, and new songs, along with his trademark scatting, bass riffs, and goofiness. He was clearly into the performance, played well to the audience, and ended on a high note with a hilarious version of Tenacious D's "Tribute". If you enjoyed Casey Abrams on American Idol, enjoy his current album, or just enjoy indie-jazz-soulful-pop type music, then check him out if you get the chance!
