How was your experience?
I agree with the other negative comments regarding 1) the venue and 2) the performance. The Wiltern is not appropriate for the ballet - between the popcorn/snacks and terrible seating arrangement (seats are at one level, not increasing height) it was unfortunate. You can come and go as you please (and people did), which is quite disruptive and typically not allowed. There wasn't an orchestra, which surprised me and although I’m sure they were high quality speakers, it was not crisp – even my husband commented on the music. The performance was not the caliber I expected from a Russian ballet company. I’ve seen better lifts from the performers at Santa Monica on the promenade. If this was your first time seeing Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, it can be done far better and please give it another chance.
