I think this play is not for everyone. It is about mental illness and its cost. It is about loss and grief that cannot be resolved, about medication and other treatment options for the ill person. Having said that, I thought the play was very well done. The music is infectious - still can't get "I Miss the Mountains" out of my head. The voices are top notch and the actors really bring it. There are moments of laughter, even the eeuuw kind - and definitely moments of poignancy. Anyone who has a family will recognize themselves, mentally ill or not - in some scenes. This is a "normal" family on the outside. Inside their house, there is much pain and suffering.
