Wow... First, the venue was great. With a small interior space, every seat is a premium seat. We enjoyed a nice two-top with absolutely excellent table service and a great stage view. The food menu was short, but the quality was surprisingly good. (We happened to sit next to one of the owners and recommended adding dessert options!) Bar choices are extensive, too. And the back patio is gorgeous - we can hardly wait to try it out in the near future! Second, Lee was simply spectacular. I happened to run into Lee while walking around the establishment. He stopped, cordially conversed with me & then prepared to hop on stage. And once on stage, Lee was a comfortable, competent performer. He avoided trite formulaic performance mechanisms. He briefly shared a handful of personal stories to introduce special songs. He handled a couple of technical challenges (like a broken guitar string) with humor and grace. And boy, can this guy play! My wife and I were thoroughly entertained for two solid hours. Lee was so engaging that nearly all of the crowd stayed after the show to purchase CD's, take snapshots with Lee & briefly chat with him. He is equally engaging one-on-one. Quite simply, we had a blast. I highly recommend both Harlow's & Lee DeWyze!
