How was your experience?
The play was powerful and interesting. I had expected it to be more soulful or emotional, but it felt more intellectual. The actors used Southern accents, appropriate to their characters, which sometimes made it hard to understand what they were saying. Maybe the acoustics were a problem. They seemed to deliver the lines in a shouting manner. This "shouting" manner of delivery made it difficult for the actors to be more tender and quiet, except in a few scenes. So, good, but not great. Also, I concur that my set in the first row of the balcony was very uncomfortable on my back. And, a shout-out to the very friendly usher, who was kind to us.
