How was your experience?
As always the Washington Ballet was characterized by beautiful dancing. The depth of the company's talent is impressive indeed. What prevents me from giving the event a fifth star is the lack of a live orchestra which seems to me to quite a detriment for a Kennedy Center event. The music to Giselle is serviceable but not brilliant. But those who are thinking of attending the Washington Ballet's Nutcracker should ask if it will be accompanied by live music. When we attended the Washington Ballet's Nutcracker a couple of years ago, it was accompanied by a very tinny sounding soundtrack. Tchaikovsky's great music demands more than that.
