How was your experience?
First, in this review I choose to separate the production from the play. This cast was incredibly energetic, intense, and able to bring credibility to a problematic script. Their singing was powerful. The staging, choreography, and costumes (given what the actors were required to do) were remarkable. I question any play that tries to hang the blame for the problems of a culture on religion and adults that control the culture. It's probably an age thing. But at 71, I still remember what I was thinking and doing at 17. I'm a lot wiser now. Alone in the third row and not knowing anyone in the audience, at one point I wondered if I was more at ease with what was happening on stage.
