How was your experience?
I might have had nose-bleed seats, but my score has everything to do with the story content of this opera. It's a story about a puffed-up knight with a former glory, but now lives in an alcoholic haze. He thinks he can write identical love letters to two women. Fat jokes abound. They find out and, with their friends, conspire to "get him." After the first half, I thought the story was pretty much wrapped up. Then, in the second half, the two women and their friends "get him again." I'm sure this was funny to someone within the last 100 years, but the story is trite and slow. I had a hard time staying awake. On the other hand, the music and performances were impressive and I would love to see these performers doing a different opera. Other add-ons were fun, like the DJ on the second floor with the Oh Snap photobooth after the play.
