How was your experience?
I took my daughter and a friend to ONCE as her birthday present. We were all thankful that she only had a B'Day ONCE a year, because having to endure another show this bad TWICE a year would be dead ly. There was zero chemistry among the performers, whose very poor attempt at believable accents made trying to understand lyrics virtually impossible. Much of the music is truly memorable, but not in the hands and voices of this cast, surely not the original. My guests and I felt throughout that we were watching a college production, not a professional one of remotely any Broadway standards Considering it won the Tony for Best Musical in 2012, we all wondered how in the world this could have happened. As it was played last night, it is time for ONCE to close, and not get one more chance. When theater tickets are this expensive, the audience deservers far more than dullness.
