How was your experience?
Parfumerie is a must for anyone who loves the classic movie, Shop Around the Corner or its modern re-imagining, You've Got Mail, and for theatre-goers who love well-acted, beautifully staged productions with great characters. The sets and costumes magically recreated Busdapest in 1937 and never once did the actors break the spell. I was truly transported to Hammerschmitt's Parfumerie just before WWII. Richard Schiff's performance as a man whose marriage may unravel at Christmas and that of the young man playing Arpad the delivery boy who helps him through it, are not to be missed. The young lovers are charming as well, and Arye Gross is wonderful as always. The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts is a new jewel in Beverly Hills that I look forward to visiting again and again.
