How was your experience?
I saw Ruhl's "Passion Play" at Arena a few years ago and was expecting this slight play to be a bit more sprawling like "Passion" was. But with few characters and not much plot, "Cowboy" nevertheless generated a lot of discussion on the way home. Unlike the reviewer who thought the play came off as man-bashing, I found the jealous husband sympathetic since he seemed in love with a frosty non-reciprocating wife who was not honest with him about her time spent with the Cowboy. My date found the wife more sympathetic. In any case, Alyssa Wilmouth was the standout performer, nailing the role of "Red" with a kd lang-type flair and a nice voice.
