How was your experience?
Not klezmer music thank goodness. A later changed listing clarified it was an ensemble fairly focused it appears on Slavic Classical works for string chamber ensemble. The program was so so except for a brilliant unknown work by Weinberg for violin and chamber orchestra. That made the show. The promoted vocal piece by Shostakovitch was replaced by a dull piece due to an illness. The ensemble had some good solos but it is very much a vehicle for Kremer. It was not a group I would see again in that hall or with such a program but at least it was better than the Superbowl. Note: Davies has quite poor acoustics and small ensembles like this sound muffled from the side.
