How was your experience?
I thought the script was really lame: sophomoric and second rate. The staging was a little better, but the show used stagecraft that's been around for hundreds of years, literally: ropes and trunks and cloth flags. All I knew before I went was that Starcatcher was the Peter Pan prequel. I had no pre-conceived ideas or expectations, but I was really disappointed with this production. Afterwards, I read that the show's Tony awards were for best sound, costume, scenic, and lighting design (and best actor for the guy playing the Captain Hook character). The design elements were fine, but the production itself: two stars.
