How was your experience?
SF Playhouse is one of the best theater companies in the Bay Area, but they can't do musicals. They either hate musicals or don't respect them, so their productions are cynical and snarky with odd anachronisms. This one also has ugly costumes and hideous wigs (don't they know any gay people?) The second act was better because they stood back and let the piece speak for itself. None of my party liked the production, but the rest of the audience seemed to have a good time, so maybe it's just us. After three strikes (My Fair Lady, Camelot) I will now stay home from their musicals, but I'll be buying tickets for everything else they do!
