How was your experience?
I got there at 5:15pm and saw that a line had already formed to get in. At 5:30pm, the gates opened but instead of an orderly line, it turned into a free for all. Latecomers were able to jump position and the staff did absolutely nothing about it. Apparently there were 3,000 attendees for the JAWS screening. Too many folks squeezed on top of one another is not my idea of a relaxing evening under the stars. My other complaint was that people brought camping chairs that were higher than 6 inches off the ground. I'd be okay with those chairs if they stuck to the very rear or the far sides but some inconsiderate jerks brought these and set them up in the middle of the venue. Again, the EAT SEE HEAR staff did nothing to police this. The lines for the food trucks were fairly long. There was, however, a variety of trucks to pick from. I stumbled upon a vending machine near the Autry bathrooms and got my snacks from that and saved myself a few dollars. The screen itself and sound were fine. Overall I enjoyed the film. I was expecting snarky hipsters to be disruptive and make comments throughout the movie but even they seemed to abandon that once they realized nobody thinks they're funny. One last tip -- bring something to keep warm after the sun goes down.
