How was your experience?
One can always count on Woolly Mammoth to bring the new, the edgy and the 'well, it was a little different' sort of theatre to the stage. A modern take on Anton Chekov's "The Seagull", Posner and Shalwitz (writer & director) take what is fundamentally 'a simple portrait of rural life' and modernize it, complete with discussions directly aimed at the audience, attempting to 'revolutionize art'. Wonderful portrayals of characters filled with angst, rejection, betrayal, love lost, self-loathing, egotism, and somewhat stunted artist searching for redemption. Phew, 2.5hrs with a little guitar accompanied song thrown in.
