This was the best jazz concert I've been to at the Bowl. Hands down. The Robert Glasper Experiment started things off right...funny and funky. Gregory Porter with his random hat is my new man crush. His voice is so smooth, velvety. Everything he sang sounded amazing. Even had me in tears. My friend and others of my sistas and brothas weren't really feelin the whole orchestra + Herbie Hancock. It was definitely not the Herbie they were used to, but good all the same. The Will Call lines to pick up tickets are extremely long. Coupled with how long it takes to find affordable parking, assume that it will take you at least 30 minutes to an hour before you're actually sitting in your seat to enjoy the music. Not really sure what's going on this summer, but there have been more stoners coming out to enjoy jazz at the bowl. They light up with reckless abandon and without consideration for who is sitting around them. If you're looking for a contact high, then you'll be fine. For my passive aggressive people, put the courtesy number in your phone quick, fast, and in a hurry.
