How was your experience?
Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant evening at BBB. I had purchased three tickets, though there were only two of us going. I have been to the show before and found the seating very uncomfortable because the chairs are right on top of each other. When we entered the theater, I discreetly informed the usher that I would like to use the third ticket to keep the seat next to me empty. He told me "It doesn't work that way". I then was forced to explain that due to my size, I wanted to keep the seat empty so I wouldn't be sitting in my neighbor's lap like last time. Though I had the extra ticket in my hand, which I explained I had paid for, he continued to argue with me. At this point, I noticed that my companion was making a "you're embarrassing me" face. I sat down in the corner he shoved us into, at which point he said, "Just so you know, you might end up with an empty seat, but it's NOT because you have an extra ticket". He did end up putting someone in the seat next to me, and I spent the entire show having to stand up and be shoved against the wall or tables every time someone left or returned to their seat. Had the seat been left empty, they could simply have walked in front of it without disrupting anybody. The whole experience was completely humiliating, and particularly disgraceful since San Francisco has specific size discrimination laws in place. I would have tried to speak to the manager, but I really wanted just to get out of there and forget the whole evening.
