How was your experience?
The comedy was quite good, with just a few flops to be expected in improv. The performers are really quick on their feet, and we mostly thought the improv'd sketches were even better than the scripted stuff. They did lean on the rural/southern hick shtick a bit much - more variety would be welcome in that regard. The theater-in-the-round helped to engage the audience, but some of the comic effect of facial expressions and body language are lost on whichever side the performers have their backs to. But since they seemed to give all sides equal time, this is a minor quibble. The loud and poorly chosen music before the start of the show and at intermission was a real detractor, however. Who needs a pounding bass beat in a small basement room? - If that's what I were looking to hear that evening, I'd have gone to a bar with live music or just suffered through my cousin's garage band. Overall, a good night out - just avoid the noise by staying outside till showtime.
