How was your experience?
Is this play cursed? Not one bit. A brand new interpretation of Shakespeare's Macbeth starts full force as the actors explore the space and play with the possibilities of sound. It is definitely important to understand the plot of Macbeth before attending Radio Macbeth. The play is reminiscent of Joe Calarco's Shakespeare R&J, in that it plays with a secondary layer of meaning between the performers. This production uses only the Shakespearean text, with hardly any contemporary conversation. Some moments were a bit lost in translation, but overall the performances were strong and the actors transitioned between characters with demonstrated vocal skill. See this show if you are intrigued by new interpretations, the emotional affect of sound and visualizing a new aesthetic of "the Scottish play".
