Make a night of it. Dobbs Ferry is a couple blocks away and excellent without breaking your bank. You should make reservations.
The Muni goes upto 3 blocks away from the venue. I also found street parking 3 blocks away for free so that worked out too.
My friends and I had dinner at Max's Opera Cafe. Its an old school diner mostly with elderly population but I enjoyed myself. The food is okay. I think its just a good option for a meal before the ballet as it's only 3 blocks away.

I spent 40 minutes looking for parking. The Performing Arts and Civic Center garages were full. Finally found a garage that had a fes spaces on its roof level.
Take Bart - just a 4 block walk from Civic Center station. Easy and affordable.
