If you go early enough, enjoy the nearby, world reknown Chicago Botanical Gardens about a mile away from Ravinia.

Take the Metra for about $7.00 R/T from downtown Chicago and avoid the traffic.

$20 to park on site is worth it if you have lots of picnic supplies to haul in. If not, park in Highland Park and shuttle in for next to nothing.

Arrive early. Depending on the performer, parking can take up to an hour.

This is one of our very favorite venues since they allow all food and all drinks.

We have never driven because the train seems so very simple. I have also read on yelp that there is only one way in and one way out so it can take a long time to leave the venue. It also seems to me that there is alot of imbibing so we just feel safer on the train. We hope to bike next summer!

When going to Ravinia, check to see if they have multiple events on the same night in different venues there. If they do, get there extra early if you want to get decent parking.
