Completed in 1854, the Jonas Chickering Pianoforte was the second largest building in the world, after the United States Capitol, and the first to combine all aspects of the manufacturing of pianos under one roof.
The theatre at the Piano Craft Guild has had many names throughout the years: The Beau Jest Moving Theatre, Threshold Theatre, and most recently Devanaughn Theatre. It has always remained a popular and affordable choice for fringe theatre companies in Boston to produce some very impressive works, classics as well as originals. This remains our mission today.
