About The Factory Theatre

The Factory Theatre is a 49-seat black-box theater, with high ceilings and beautiful exposed bricks.

Completed in 1854, the Jonas Chickering Pianoforte was the second largest building in the world, after the United States Capitol, and the first to combine all aspects of the manufacturing of pianos under one roof.

The theater at the Piano Craft Guild has had many names throughout the years: The Beau Jest Moving Theatre, Threshold Theatre, and most recently Devanaughn Theatre. It has always remained a popular and affordable choice for fringe theater companies in Boston to produce some very impressive works, classics as well as originals. This remains our mission today.

The entrance to the theatre is around the back. Facing the building, go right. You will not be able to access it if you go left..

I like the Factory Theatre but it can get warm and stuffy. Some level of airflow is needed in future
