The opening of this facility in Emeryville introduces the Bay Area to a new breed of healthy family entertainment center that acknowledges the needs of the whole family. Rather than catering to the lowest common denominators of the kiddie zone--greasy pizza and video games--Blue Sky will offer a variety of high-energy, fun and creative activities for kids; a gourmet sit-down restaurant; and a relaxing atmosphere for adults. The concept behind Blue Sky was formed during an extended sabbatical in South America, where former CEO of Berkeley-based Clif Bar Sheryl O'Loughlin and husband Patrick found places that encouraged all-family play time with fun music, good food and wholesome activities.
