"The oldest queer theater in America,” Theatre Rhinoceros (aka The Rhino) develops and produces works of theatre that enlighten, enrich, and explore both the ordinary and extraordinary aspects of our queer community. The Rhino was founded in 1977 by the late Allan B. Estes Jr., and has itself been the subject of news articles, magazine features and a full-length documentary, not to mention the numerous groundbreaking works it has staged. The Rhino seats just more than 115 people, and is conveniently located near public transportation options.
