CBS Radford Studios is one of two locations where CBS has television studios in Los Angeles. The location has a rich entertainment history. The location began its history as a silent film studio in May 1928. CBS became the primary lessee in 1963, filming hit television shows like Gunsmoke, Rawhide and Gilligan's Island there. Since then, CBS has purchased the lot and today the studio is one of the most active in the city for filming sitcoms and also serves as the home to CBS's Los Angeles flagship station, KCBS-TV and sister station KCAL-TV, which are nowlocated in the former location of the Big Brother house, from the hit reality series.
