I wish I could give the second performance 6 stars. The others were an average of 4.

Fantastic concert with the fabulous Joshua Roman playing the unbelievably difficult but beautiful Mason Bates' Cello Concerto! The music was amazing, and we totally loved it, and are usually skeptics of new music. Beethoven's 4th Symphony was...continued

Beautiful music, sad but thought-provoking poetry reading by excellent actors. Men's bass choir and soloist were wonderful. Orchestra was superb. Only drawback was that the house lights were still almost too dim to read the lyrics during the...continued

Mark Morris’ work is technically exact and consistently upbeat. Not challenging or surprising but still quite enjoyable. Like popcorn, it’s yummy even if not a real meal.

Goldstar seating at Zellerbach is consistently a problem. Balcony was at...continued

They were over the top, the selection, the seats great! (thank You!) We had the "saints" singing right next to us, and loved the chorus and Soprano.

Another outstanding concert from the Berkeley Symphony. I liked the new cello work very much, and the orchestra did fine with Beethoven's 4th Symphony. I also appreciated the fact that the concert was rather short.

Excellent concert--back-to-back violin concertos by Jennifer Koh was amazing, and Music Director Joanna Carnieros was her dynamic self. Zellerbach does need to work on the house lighting. We sat in Orchestra/Stage Left (house right) row W, where...continued

The soloist's passion for playing was thrilling to experience. The entire performance was first rate. I had never heard of her so this was just an amazing treat. 5 Stars does not come close to describing how great a performance this was.

Well done. Getting to the concert was very challenging since so many entrances were locked.

The piece after intermission was just fantastic! As for the venue -- really nice and the staff was great. I'm not sure why the lights were on in the audience though; I found it distracting. There were a lot of kids in the balcony, which is great...continued

Thank you for having asked Zellerback and received a modification re: seat location. I had payed for 2 rear orchestra seats for 1 wheelchair user and companion. Instead I was ushered to empty wheelchair spaces, 3rd row orchestra. Fantastic...continued

I think Morris is our greatest living choreographer. The dancing in Saturday's performance was outstanding and the accompaniment by Berkeley Symphony added to the artistry.
