It seems to me that most people in the theater were laughing heartily, but my wife and I were not among them.
I'm a fan of slapstick and like silly British humor, but I found this play tiresome. They make the same joke over and over and over...continued

Great musical. Great songs by Sting, great cast, well written dialogue, fantastic set, positive message.

Dominique Morisseau's book made this a better than average show of its type. Of course, everyone involved had great material with The Temptations' songbook. The audience was very enthusiastic. A very enjoyable evening.

The show is perfectly fine but it is directed towards those fascinated by the writing of the Irish writer Samuel Beckett, an academic pursuit that happens to also be entertaining. It certainly showcases Bill Irwin's talents as a well-trained actor!

First act of this play is as good as it gets. Excellent writing, casting, direction and staging.
Second act drags a bit but we went home happy. Easy to see why this production received Tony nominations!
One of the major themes of this play is the...continued

This was the second time we saw this dance performance so that alone will announce how much we enjoy it! Took our 16 year old niece this time and she LOVED it.

Great music but terrible storytelling. Performers are all terrific and the show is dynamic, but don't expect any earth shattering revelations or even much character development. Surprisingly hollow at the center.

A really well written and performed string of vignettes illustrating life and lessons in Lackawanna. Thought provoking, heart breaking, funny and inspiring.

Acting was okay, not stellar; felt excluded from "inside jokes" when Spanish or Japanese was used, where some audience members would laugh, but not others who did not understand the languages. Good presentation of plight of the Japanese Americans...continued

At times it was difficult to hear the dialogue; I was seated in row M, and missed some of the parts which got a laugh or reaction from the audience. It was a difficult play to sit through since not much was happening to stimulate the senses and...continued

Very silly and I think most of the audience liked it, judging from their laughter. The actors didn't hold for laughs and I couldn't hear the lines which followed, which diminished my experience a bit. I found the humor getting old and not very...continued

I had been waiting for an opportunity to see this musical; it was not as funny as I thought it would be and I didn't leave the theater humming any particular tune. The talent was great, however, but at times it was difficult to hear the words (I...continued

Wonderful production. Set in 1986 Ghana. Issues still relevant today! Actresses were very talented. We enjoyed the Talk with the Actresses after the play!

I happen to see Lackawanna Blues on TV and it was wonderful. The theatrical show followed the story line and the actor/s kept your attention throughout the entire monologue. I truly enjoyed the event.
