Kenny Shipman grew up on Motown, Blues, R&B, Funk, & Rock n Roll. After picking up the guitar at the age of 10, he was blown away by 80’s virtuosos such as Eddie Van Halen, Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, & Larry Carlton just to name a few. His playing style was changed forever when he heard for the first time “Far Beyond The Sun” by Yngwie Malmsteen. He knew right then and there that he needed to practice a hell of a lot more if he wanted to be respected as a guitar player. Though never truly leaving his Soulful roots, he ventured into Rock bands such as Sahara, a melodic Neo Classical project from the early 90’s, which never hit the big time, but solidified music as part of Kenny’s life and Ihe knew he would never give up on trying to be heard. Kenny’s debut release has multiple influences, however the new material is on a whole new level of writing, musicianship, and grooves. His hope is to create a vibe that the masses can enjoy and yet the players can respect.
