Reviews of Missing Persons

After forming in 1980 in Los Angeles, Missing Persons began bending ears their way with a blend of new-wave and hard-rock. Quintessential tracks like “Walking in L.A.,” “Destination Unknown,” and “Words” garnered a lot of attention, due in no small part to the quirky voice and distinctive look of charismatic lead vocalist Dale Bozzio. They were on top of the musical world during the heyday of MTV, and as their many fans know — they still put on a fantastic show all these years later.

Sure, Missing Persons lived up to their name, but the evening was entertaining. Gene Loves Jezebel had a good edge and Tommy Tutone seemed very smooth at his pop niche.

Missing Persons was a no show. It was very disappointing. Gene Loves Jezebel made up for it for the most part. It was an ok show, but I wish I'd known the main band I went to see wasn't going to show up.

Excellent venue, great list of performers, 11 in total. Only flaw was too little time for each performance (3 songs a piece...need more).

Club was small and impressive. Great for seeing performers upclose. Great show but, would have been nice if Missing Persons came on at 10 rather than 11. I was annoyed that even after getting parking validated at the club I still had to pay...continued

Sorry guys, this one didn't work out. I am a very frequent flyer to the Canyon Club, and this one was a bust. Missing Persons didn't show up, Tommy Tutone was boring and Gene Loves Jezebel was entertaining, but the sound quality was poor at best...continued

Missing Persons was good...Nobody's as good as the album and it's been 30 years since the hits, so we didn't expect Dale's voice to be what it was. Sound quality is not so great up in the balcony at Lido Live..30% muffled (compared to the ground...continued

the lead on act, Yours Truly, was great. Great energy, vocals, great fun. Missing Persons sounded great. Pretty much like the 80s. Hearing their top songs was worth sitting through their new music. They opened with Mental Hopscotch and killed...continued

First of all, Missing Persons did not perform and I was really looking forward to seeing them. Tommy Tutone rocked the house. I enjoyed his performance very much especially when he sang "867-5309." I did not know any of Genes Loves Jezebel's songs...continued

You can listen to a CD or you can see a band live. Why do people go to live concerts? Perhaps to see the artists in person. To see their expressions; to see their stage antics; to look into their eyes and feel a connection?
Well... That didn't...continued
