From Babe Ruth to Lou Gehrig to Joe DiMaggio to Mickey Mantle to Mariano Rivera, the New York Yankees have fielded more superstars since being founded in 1901 than a dozen other baseball teams combined. The Bronx Bombers have won 27 World Series championships, and Yankee Stadium hosted some of the most exciting baseball games in history. The new Yankee Stadium, constructed next to “The House That Ruth Built” and opened in 2009, features the New York Yankees Museum, as well as a wide variety of restaurants, including a Hard Rock Cafe. Current players Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira, Masahiro Tanaka and Michael Pineda join a long tradition of greats to wear the team’s iconic pinstripes.
