The Turtles

First scoring a Top 10 hit with their 1965 cover of Bob Dylan’s “It Ain’t Me Babe,” pop-rock band The Turtles gained immortality with their 1967 chart-topper “Happy Together.” They went on to rack up a string of hits throughout that magical decade, including “You Baby,” “She’d Rather Be with Me,” “You Know What I Mean,” “She’s My Girl” and more. After the band’s breakup, founding members Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan joined Frank Zappa’s Mothers of Invention, taking on the stage names Flo and Eddie. They later lent their vocal talents as studio backup singers for T. Rex and Bruce Springsteen. After The Turtles reunited, they put together the Happy Together tour, hitting the road with an all-star lineup of ‘60s acts.

Tons of fun! The mixing was off in the beginning, when Gary Lewis was on stage, but the problems were dialed in and it just got better and better. Lots of energy, lots of fun and when the Turtles took the stage they sounded terrific! Mark...continued
