About Black Boys Cry
In this hilarious and compelling story, we walk through the lives of five black men on a journey of healing, growth, and friendship. All while facing the issues of childhood trauma, addiction, abandonment, depression, sex, or sexuality, these men bond on brotherhood and strength. Harold JAY Trotter and 1989 Dreams Production of "Black Boys Cry" is a funny, thought-provoking, and emotional rollercoaster that reminds us that society may label us, but it is we ourselves who choose our own destiny. The talented and well-rounded cast of Black Boys Cry includes model and actor Brad Cross, along with R&B singers Dishon "Ahz Moses" Brown and one half of the popular group Ejimah, Quincy Lovings. Joining them are actor Robert Richard and current Mister HBCU, Taylor Getwood. Some shows may feature performances by Julian Williams and Tipville USA. Writer and director Harold JAY Trotter studied music performance and theatre at Grambling State University. Some of his past productions include the nationally touring, award-winning stage plays Ain't Always Been Saved and When Temptation Comes. Musicals include The Messiah of OZ, a gospel version of The Wiz, and Super Freak: Because of Rick James. In 2020, Harold released his debut single, "I Believe," featuring acclaimed singer Nakitta Foxx.
