The Ruskin Group Theatre Co. chooses the best plays, and the best actors to perform in them. This is the way theatre was meant to be, intimate and enveloping.

I give Burn This, 4 out of 4 stars however, I do not think the stars are cooperating.

More of a 2.5. It was little better than "ok", but not as good as "I liked it". I heard great things about the play, but was a little disappointed. Anna and Burton were not crisp, and the necessary passion between Pale and Anna was missing. The...continued

What an enjoyable evening! This is the 3rd show I have seen at the Ruskin, and I love the intimacy of the theater, you feel like you are part of the show. Anna was played by Alexis Boozer, and she was just fantastic, as was Aaron Misakian as...continued

The direction of the play was adequate. I enjoyed the intimate setting, and the staging of the play. However,it took awhile to see where they were going with this piece. In addition, the actors rushed through their lines in the first two scenes....continued

Two of the characters -- Jimmy (Pale) and Larry were quite good. Burton and Anna were so-so. There was more 'stepping on each other's lines' than I would have expected, and even some times when it appeared that lines had been forgotten.

The...continued

I saw "Burn This" twice. I enjoyed it the first time - the 2nd time was two weeks later and I enjoyed the show even more. If you've been in a relationship, you can relate to at least certain plot points of the play. Marisa Petroro was excellent as...continued

Good acting, expecially the gay character who really held this play together. I feel the excessive use of 4-letter words unnecessary especially the "f" word. Believe it or not it's actually possible to express anger using a more varied...continued

My husband and I went to a Sunday matinee show and had a nice time. Very casual atmosphere, but professional and friendly. Our performance of Anna was played by the understudy and she really didn't fit the character like the rest of the cast. I am...continued

I thought this play was fantastic. The theater was really small, which added to the experience. Every guest was in either the first or second row (seats are in an L around the stage). At points during the show, I felt like a "fly on the wall"...continued

The play was a decent outing for the price. The play itself was intelligently written. As an African American I could have done without the use of the word "n*gga" in the script. Seemed as if the entire audience (which was not African American)...continued

I really like this theatre and am never disappointed by their excellent work. This was well worth seeing and my guest (an actress), who had seen the original cast with Malkovich on Broadway said that they delivered fine performance, while...continued

A top-notch performance--I would rate it 5 stars! The trip to Santa Monica from the valley was easy, there is ample free parking at the theatre, the seats are very comfortable. The acting was excellent--we happened to go on a day when 2...continued

The Ruskin is a wonderful place to see anything, but they often present better plays than this one.

I thought the acting was generally ok, although I, also, was a bit weary with seeing yet another flaming-gay portrayal presented as if it were...continued

The venue is great - very intimate... You are practically on the stage with the actors. Good story - intense performances. A quality production at and good value.
