I saw the revival on Broadway in NYC recently and must admit that I was afraid that the Alameda production would be weak in comparison - but I was happily surprised! These actors can REALLY sing (and dance). I also expected the troupe to shy away...continued

This was a very moving, engaging performance. Excellent cast, brilliant staging, terrific orchestra and singing. We both cried more than once. Lots of wonderful, fun details, such as cast members greeting us outside the venue before the show to...continued

The cast is enthusiastic and clearly committed. Choreography and staging were OK. Acoustics were not good and singers exacerbated that problem by not enunciating and staying crisp. Only one of the leads had a consistently good voice. If the...continued

An attractive, energetic cast couldn't save this production. With the exception of the singer in the role of Sheila, ALL of the vocals were inaudible. We moved at intermission (from up-close to about 1/2 way back in the auditorium), hoping the...continued

Excellent show - high energy and enthusiasm from the young cast. They draw you in even before the show officially starts. Definitely worth seeing. This is one of the best co.s for musicals in the bay area.

Just like they did with Ragtime, ACLO did a marvelous job with this show. Very clever staging and wonderful voices.

Really enjoyed this second visit to an Alameda Civic Light Opera production. How time flies - has it really been 40 years since "Hair" took the theater world by storm? Cast was very strong with enormous energy and dedication to the spirit of the...continued

A wonderful night at the theatre. This theatre troop did an outstanding performance of the production. We loved it, and left the theatre dancing and singing. The show is no longer playing, but we hope to be coming back again to see future...continued

Fantastic talent of the 23 performers. Wonderful, gutsy performance. Better than the last time I saw it in San Francisco (at $100 per ticket). Well worth the $ and the time taken to see it. I can't believe that the theater wasn't full. Must...continued

I loved this event. I have never been to an ACLO production before, but I have always heard good things. I would definitely recommend this play, ... well done... bravo!!!

Some amazing dancing and a number of strong voices. The casts energy is infectious. Unfortunately, as with the Ragtime production, the solo singers are over-miked which make it difficult to understand or enjoy their efforts completely.
