I feel fortunate San Diego has a ballet company the caliber of the City Ballet. Although Giselle is not my favorite ballet, the soloists were superb. I thought the corps performed as well as the ABT. The live orchestra made the event that much...continued

This was my first time watching a performance by City Ballet and I enjoyed it.

The first act drags on a little, since it is more mime and acting than dancing, but it is needed to set the story up for the second act. The peasant costumes,...continued

the ballet was beautiful. the fist act is a little slow on dancing as they try to set you up with telling the story, the second act was amazing. the ballerinas are very talented. we had a lovely time!

As advertised, this was a classic romantic ballet and it was positively wonderful! I went with three female friends and we were all enchanted with the beauty, the skill, and the costumes of the dancers and the dance itself. If you are looking...continued

DIVINE! Hearing the history & storyline of Giselle before the performance began enriched the experience. Orchestra and dancers were superior.
Costumes and sets were beautifully done.
Am still in the after-glow of a delightful event.

Great performance. Giselle danced beautifully, and the rest of the the dancers were fabulous as well. Nice costuming too. The orchestra seemed really young, and there were some intonation issues, but what a wonderful experience for them to perform...continued

I did enjoy the ballet, although I agree that the first act was slow. It is an amature production so I think allowances must be made for that. The introductory explanation about the ballet was a little long, but good for the children in the...continued

This was an amazing rendition of a very respected, old style ballet. The part of Giselle in ballet circles is one of high expectations, and commiserate adoration. In this production the lead was superb as were the other cast members. On the night...continued

We left at the intermission, it was so bad..
This performance should not have had a live orchestra. The music was worse than a Jr. High orchestra. What a disappointment! The horns tried, but the violins were totally out of tune and the sound was...continued

We loved our seats. The staging, costumes and the dancers were wonderful. Being able to watch a live orchestra playing for the ballet and see and feel the timpani was a special treat.

What an exceptional cultural experience! We all had good seats in the beautiful and intimate Spreckels theatre. The French Ballet of Giselle and its music were absolutely magnificent. The dancers were superb.
